Things That Are Harder Than Running a Marathon

(A working list)

– Driving on any California Highway during rush hour without swearing. Or really at any time of day

– Saying “no” to Girl Scouts during cookie season

– Watching a race in your neighborhood and not getting to participate

– Not singing along to Journey

– Wearing white without spilling on yourself

– Leaving Target for less than $50

– Learning Japanese, probably

– Captcha codes

Of course, it’s been a minute (er, almost two years?!) since I’ve completed a 26.2 mile race, so maybe my memory’s a little off. Any recent marathoners care to chime in?

In conclusion, here’s an irrelevant but adorable photo of Frankie and Chico because it’s Friday and it’s my blog.

And a classic Addam’s Family clip because it actually is relevant and young Christina Ricci is the best

Happy weekend, racing, and long running, pals.

  1. Since there aren’t GF Girl Scout cookies in my two fave flavors, its actually easy for me to pass those up, thankfully! I’ve never run a marathon, but I tried to learn Greek once, and I imagine thats likely harder than 26.2 miles would be…

  2. I beg to differ – all of the above are easier than a marathon – you need to run another one to remember the pain!!! :)

The two things harder (or more painful?!)

    1) an ironman
    2) giving birth without meds

Can vouch for #1 and am pretty sure #2 is legit.

  3. Captcha codes! Just yesterday I did battle with one – just trying to order my husband a freaking replacement CVS key tag. It was a photo of a number AND a code. I had to try about five times before I got it right. Are spammers sending that many emails to CVS customer service?? GEEZ.

  4. I have been exploring for a little bit for any high quality
articles or blog posts in this sort of area
. Exploring in Yahoo I ultimately stumbled upon this web site.
Studying this info So i’m happy to convey that I’ve a
very just right uncanny feeling I discovered exactly
what I needed. I such a lot indisputably will make
certain to do not disregard this web site and give it a
    look on a constant basis.

  5. Thanks for making me smile, this post was awesome!
I’ve never run 26.2 but I have done 13.1 and I think something that’s harder than that is
-Not freaking out that you’re dying or permanently injured because you’ve diagnosed yourself with something terrible based on very vague symptoms and some WebMD (or similar) article.

  6. yes, to your whole list, just yes. why oh why am i such a klutz who can’t be trusted to drink/eat without a bib. seriously, 2 or something. and the codes….those things are just kryptonite for my old lady eyes. thanks for the laugh… :)

    oh, and 26.2 retirement is where it’s at… :)
